The catering training area is an interactive area which offers the learners first hand  experience of an industrial kitchen. The programme aims to provide learning opportunities for those with a passion for cooking and who are considering a career in the catering field. The programme includes food preparation, use of kitchen equipment, meal service and cleaning. The learner will develop the knowledge skills and competence to work effectively in the catering business. We provide menu planning focusing on healthy eating, and we achieved "The Happy Heart Award" from the Irish Heart Foundation earlier this year for our work in this field.

Personal development is important in the holistic development of our learners.  We offer educational field trips to enhance the learning experience in this regard. Recent educational trips include the Catex Exibition, Kilmanham Gaol, The Guinness Storehouse and Carlingford Adventure Centre Skypark. Leading from this course learners can gain employment in restaurants, bars, hotels, coffee shops etc. Learners can also progress to college to do a level 5 Culinary Arts course.

We also offer training in HACCP, First Aid and Manual Handling.
